Safer Internet Day 2025 Teaching Resources

Safer Internet Day is the UK’s biggest celebration of online safety. Each year Safer Internet Day covers online issue or themes that speak to the things young people are seeing and experiencing online. In 2025, the date is Tuesday 11th February.

The 2025 Safer Internet Day theme is: ‘Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online.' It will look at how young people can be aware of internet scams and how to protect themselves and others, plus what support is available to them.

If you're interested in running an assembly with your school, or looking for lesson resources, then here are some sites to consider:

UK Safer Internet Centre

The UK Safer Internet Centre has a range of resources to deliver sessions for Safer Internet Day, for use with all ages and different school settings. From EYFS to 14-18. Access the resources directly here.

Tech She Can Live lessons

The charity Tech She Can are running a series of Live Lessons and assemblies for Safer Internet Day, as well as for other events (check out their British Science Week assemblies too. You can register for the live lessons here: https://techshecan.org/live-assemblies

BBC Live Lesson

The BBC will be running a 30 minute live lesson looking at the virtual world of Scam Smashers! The children will need to outsmart the online scammers and digital tricksters. The 30 minute Live Lesson will be available to watch live at 11:00 on Tuesday 11 February on the BBC website and on the CBBC channel. It'll be available to watch on demand after that.

Purple Mash

Twinkl have produced two assembly packs that can be used to give assemblies on Internet Safety Day. One pack for KS1 and one for KS2.
